Reese Talbott '22 is the Student Body President at Loyola University. This summer, Reese will be interning at McCormick & Company as a Category Management Intern, and after graduating from Loyola in 2026, she hopes to pursue a career in Marketing.

“My Maryvale years are something I truly cherish. Everyone there wants to see you shine your brightest. Those years were truly impactful on where I am today as a confident leader."

Maryvale’s Mitchell Leadership Institute was a draw for Reese. She was looking for more opportunities to grow and reach outside of her comfort zone. The Capstone project was a challenging but rewarding experience for her. Prior to this, Reese had struggled with public speaking.

“It was empowering to research something I was passionate about: Leaders with Disabilities. It was a real breakthrough moment for me when I was able to cast aside my social anxiety and present in front of a crowd without a hitch. Thanks to the support I needed along the way.”

The people and careers Mary Ellen Rector Fise '74, Founding Director of the Mitchell Leadership Institute, introduced Leadership Scholars to sparked Reese’s love for the value of connection within a community. Grateful for the key support system she received while she attended Maryvale, Reese took the tools she gained and immediately sought to implement them in college at Loyola University. She immediately became involved in Student Government and now, in her junior year, serves as President of the SGA, where she enjoys helping build community on the Loyola campus and making connections with her fellow Greyhounds.

While at Maryvale, Reese was involved in SGA and says the faculty was truly invested in each student’s success. Jessica Vitrano Randisi '01, Head of Student Life and Dean of Students, is a role model Reese continues to look up to as one who leads in fostering the welcoming and positive culture that is the Maryvale brand.
