Service Learning at Maryvale
By engaging in service to others, we honor the legacy of St. Julie Billiart and embrace our responsibility to create a more just and loving world. Throughout their education, Maryvale students engage in interdisciplinary service experiences that equip them with the necessary skills to respond to suffering in the world and to enact justice in promotion of the Gospel values.
An 80 hour commitment to service work is required for graduation. Several of these hours will be completed as part of the school day (grade-wide days of service, Catholic Social Teaching classwork, team or club sponsored service). The remaining hours must be completed on your own, over your high school career. If you need suggestions or assistance, please email the Service Coordinator Amy Ciarlo here.
Our service work will follow the SND Reflect-Serve-Reflect model, with each student gaining a deeper understanding of who they are serving and why.
