Uzezi Abugo is a Maryvale Alumna from the class of 2005 and the co-founder of Mochidream, a skincare company designed to inspire girls to celebrate their unique beauty and limitless potential. She spoke to Maryvale students, along with her partner Naomi Hung, about her journey. They shared their insights on female leadership and entrepreneurship.
When girls lead, beautiful things happen!
Uzezi believes skincare creates moments of bonding, creativity, and self-expression. After graduating from Maryvale, she went to the University of Pennsylvania and then to Harvard Law School. She practiced law for years before feeling called to empower girls around the world to embrace their beauty with confidence. The law world brought Uzezi and Naomi together, that’s when they realized they had the same passion.

Naomi graduated from Columbia University and UC Berkely School of Law. She previously held positions at J.P. Morgan and Goldman Sachs. She is dedicated to creating clean products she can trust her two daughters to use!

Mochidream is based out of New York City. Over the summer, four current Maryvale students - Mackenzie R. '26, Simi A. '27, Eden W. '27, and Amiya L. '27 – interned with Mochidream. They were dubbed ‘Glow Getters’ and help support the company’s social media and marketing efforts.
Before speaking to Leadership Scholars at Maryvale, Mochidream was highlighted on Fox5 DC. Click here to watch the story!
