The program offers a variety of opportunities for students to deepen their relationship with God, including regular Masses, prayer services, retreats, and faith-sharing groups. Middle schoolers and high school seniors are invited to participate in peer ministry programs to deepen their faith and lead their fellow students.
Forming Hearts, Inspiring Service
The Campus Ministry Program at Maryvale Preparatory school is designed to support and nurture the spiritual development of each student, helping them grow deeper in their personal relationship with God. Rooted in the rich traditions of the Catholic faith and the hallmarks of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, this program emphasizes the importance of prayer, reflection, and community while fostering an environment that invites all students to explore their faith in a personal and meaningful way.
One of the key aspects of our Campus Ministry Program is its commitment to upholding the Catholic identity of the school, ensuring that every activity and initiative is grounded in the teachings of the Church. Students learn to live out the Gospel values of love, service, and compassion in their daily lives, not only within the school community but also in the broader world.
Ultimately, the Campus Ministry Program aims to guide students on their own unique faith journeys, helping them to encounter the loving God who walks with them through life. By providing a space for reflection, worship, and service, the program equips students to grow in faith, hope, and love as they prepare to carry the light of Christ into the world.
Maryvale Retreat Program
Maryvale’s Campus Ministry Retreat Program is a transformative experience designed to help students encounter the truth of who God is, building on that understanding each year to create a more complete picture of His love and presence in their lives.
Each year, the retreat emphasizes a different facet of God's nature, gradually leading students to a fuller understanding of His love, grace, and purpose for their lives. Through prayer, reflection, small group discussions, and guided activities, students have the opportunity to explore how God is present in their daily lives, their struggles, and their joys.
Ultimately, Maryvale's Campus Ministry Retreat Program aims to equip students with a strong, personal foundation in faith. By learning more about who God is, students are empowered to live out their faith with confidence and joy, carrying the truth of God's love with them into the future.
Retreat Themes
The middle school retreat introduces the students to a loving God who empowers them to love and serve others. By deeply exploring one of the main guiding principles of Maryvale, students will connect the way they treat others to the Catholic faith.
The 9th grade retreat at Maryvale focuses on helping students discover and embrace their God-given identity, encouraging them to understand their worth and purpose as beloved children of God.
The 10th grade retreat at Maryvale centers on helping students understand that God created them for meaningful relationships—with Him, others, and themselves—highlighting the importance of love, connection, and community.
The 11th grade retreat at Maryvale emphasizes that God created each student for wholeness and healing, inviting them to experience His transformative love and the restoration of their true selves.
The 12th grade retreat at Maryvale focuses on helping students recognize that God has created them to succeed, equipping them with the confidence and faith to step into their future with purpose and trust in His plan.
Peer Minister Program
The Peer Ministry Program at Maryvale offers middle schoolers an elective and high school seniors a class they can apply for, where students are empowered to take an active role in planning and leading spiritual events, such as Masses, retreats, and prayer services.
Middle school students, through an elective, learn foundational leadership skills, teamwork, and the importance of service, preparing them to engage in the faith life of the school.
High school seniors, as part of the class, receive more in-depth training and mentorship, allowing them to take on greater responsibility in organizing and leading these events, helping to foster a vibrant and supportive Catholic community. Both groups work together to create meaningful spiritual experiences that encourage personal growth, reflection, and a deeper connection to God and each other.
Liturgies
At Maryvale, proudly affiliated with the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, we believe that celebrating Mass together is a central and powerful part of our faith journey. Celebrating Mass once a month as a community, is not only a time for prayer and worship, but a communal experience where we gather as a school family to praise God, receive the Eucharist, and reflect on the teachings of Christ.
Celebrating Mass is an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to come together in unity, fostering a sense of belonging and strengthening our connection to one another and to God. It is a time to reflect on the Gospel, be nourished spiritually, and renew our commitment to living the values of our Catholic faith.
At Maryvale, we honor the rich tradition of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, who have long emphasized the importance of communal worship. Through regular Mass celebrations, we invite all members of our school community to deepen their relationship with God, grow in faith, and be inspired to live lives of service and compassion.
