Congratulations to the Maryvale Mock Trial team for an incredible season!
For one of their last times in the courtroom this year, they had a rematch against Pikesville. Their first time against this team, in January, they lost by one tiebreak. In February, they took the win!
The Mock Trial Moderator, John Levasseur, said the team put on a great case. He said, "The team was so poised and confident. I think it was an amazing experience for everyone on the team who attended. They were all really excited about the win!
The judge, who is an assistant state’s attorney, was very impressed with the team’s effort. After the trial, she met with the team for several minutes, offering them her advice and insights.
Mr. Levasseur wants to give a special shout-out to Annie D. '26, featured in the above picture on the far right. Annie is on the defense team and does not have to attend any of the prosecution cases. He explained, "Four out of our five trials have been prosecution, and Annie has attended each one. In addition, she was busy taking notes during the entire Pikesville trial. That’s what I call a team player!"
