Over more than a decade, her dedication, passion, and vision have left an indelible mark on the team, the school, and the broader community.

When Coach Missy began her journey at Maryvale, the team faced its fair share of challenges, finishing her first season with a 3–14 record. Through determination, hard work, and a commitment to building both skill and character, the program steadily improved year after year. By 2015, the team reached the IAAM “B” Conference Finals, and the following year, Maryvale captured its first conference championship under her leadership.

Coach Missy’s influence extends far beyond wins and losses. She emphasizes teamwork, joy for the game, and belief in one’s self, helping her athletes develop not just as players, but as young women of character. Her players consistently note her ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge them to reach their full potential — both on and off the court.

The team’s move to the IAAM “A” Conference in 2018 marked a new era of competition and achievement. Under her guidance, Maryvale has become a powerhouse, earning five IAAM Championships, nine conference finals appearances (six consecutive), and multiple Coach of the Year honors — including recognition from the IAAM, the Baltimore Banner, and The Baltimore Sun. Coach Missy’s 2021 squad achieved a perfect 17–0 season, a testament to her strategic leadership and unwavering commitment.

Her overall record at Maryvale stands at 154–88, with an exceptional 99–21 record in the “A” Conference, highlighting not only consistency but excellence at the highest levels of competition. Beyond statistics, Coach Missy’s legacy is seen in the resilience, confidence, and camaraderie she instills in her athletes.  She also is a self-proclaimed “superfan” of all Maryvale athletics. You’ll see her on the sidelines of games in every sport, every season, cheering for the Lions louder than anyone else. This is proof of her love for not only her own program, but the success of Maryvale athletes as a whole.

Coach Missy Little’s tenure at Maryvale Volleyball is more than a story of wins; it’s a story of dedication, inspiration, and lasting impact. She has built a program where athletes thrive, lessons extend beyond the court, and the pursuit of excellence is matched by the love of the game.
