On Friday, October 25, The Mitchell Leadership Institute kicked off its Leadership Speaker Series for the 2024-2025 school year, which is the 10-year anniversary of the institute, with a very impressive guest.

Angelique "Q" Napoleon is the Cybersecurity Director, Division Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), and Cyber Capability Lead at General Dynamics Information Technology. She is a Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert who has worked in the defense industry and supported commercial clientele for 27 years. She is responsible for Cyber activities and has served successfully in C-Suite positions.

Ms. Napoleon has developed highly specialized cyber capabilities, frameworks, and services for PENTEST, System Security Engineering, and Cyber Threat Intelligence products for commercial and defense clients. She has established the Price Forensics Lab for IntellecTechs and handled the Digital Forensics and Incident Response activities, including formalized reporting to Government and Federal Law Enforcement organizations.

Maryvale students were shocked to hear how hackers can get into any device you own, even your camera! Ms. Napoleoon is also the Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board of Cybersecurity Divas.

"After listening to Q, I felt truly motivated by her accomplishments. While listening, I felt empowered to pursue a career in the science field. I have always been interested in science and engineering, but after listening to Q, I know I want to major in cybersecurity and engineering in college!"

Lauren T. '26 was one of many students inspired by the presentation. Some key takeaways from Ms. Napoleon's lecture were to be confident, bold, and lean on your mentors. She stressed she would be a mentor or a resource to any student who wants support.
