Traditions Spiritual

On Wednesday, March 5, the entire Maryvale community gathered around the Mary's circle for an International Women's Day litany.

We gather in gratitude for the women in our lives, in our communities, and throughout history. We celebrate the strength, resilience, and wisdom of women, created in God's image, and entrusted with His love.

People: Blessed be the women.

Leader: We give thanks for the women who have paved the way—those who fought for justice, equality, and dignity, and for all women who continue to do so today.

People: Blessed be the women.

Leader: We celebrate the women of faith who have spoken truth to power, whose voices have brought healing, hope, and change.

People: Blessed be the women.

Leader: We remember the women in the Bible—like Mary, the mother of Jesus, who said “yes” to God; Esther, who stood for her people; Ruth, who showed devotion and love; and Deborah, who led with wisdom and courage.

People: Blessed be the women.

Leader: We pray for all women around the world, that they may know their worth as beloved daughters of God, that they may be treated with dignity and respect, and that they may live in the freedom Christ offers. In the name of Jesus Christ, who was born of a woman, who loved women, and who calls all of us to live in love and unity, we pray.

People: Amen.

The entire Maryvale community prayed the Hail Mary before going into Ash Wednesday liturgy.
