Follow the steps below to apply to Maryvale!

1. Visit Maryvale.

Join us for a Meet Maryvale event, Shadow Day or special admissions event to experience life as a Lion. Upper School Meet Maryvale events will be held on Oct. 4, 2019 and Nov. 5, 2019. Middle School Meet Maryvale events will be held on Oct. 17, 2019 and Dec. 5, 2019. Shadow Days are conducted from October until mid-January while special admissions events will occur throughout the fall and winter.

If your daughter is visiting Maryvale as a prospective transfer student, please contact Director of Admissions Sheryl Piron at 410-308-8531 or pirons@maryvale.com to inquire about openings.

2. Complete your online application.

Please complete the online application and submit the accompanying $50 application fee by Dec. 20, 2019. Please note that if the applicant is the daughter or grandaughter of a Maryvale alumna or the sister of a current/former Maryvale student, please contact the Admissions Office at 410-308-8531 for an application waiver code.

Upper School Applications

Currently Attending a Catholic Middle School

4. Take the High School Placement Test (HSPT)

The HSPT will be offered on Dec. 7, 2019 and Dec. 14, 2019. Maryvale will administer the HSPT on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019.

Applicants should arrive at 8:30 a.m. for registration. Testing begins promptly at 9 a.m. and concludes at noon.

NEW: As part of the HSPT registration process, your school will receive a notification to send your transcripts and recommendations/referrals to Maryvale. No additional steps are needed on your family's end.

Not Attending a Catholic Middle School

5. Send Maryvale your transcripts.

Download the Request for Transcript form and provide it to your current school after the close of the first grading period. This form gives the school your permission to send records from the past three years (grades, report cards, teacher comments and any/all standardized test scores) to Maryvale.

Due: Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2020

6. Send Maryvale your referral forms.

Two Common Referral forms should be completed by your daughter’s current teachers after the close of the first grading period. One form should be completed by her English/Language Arts/Social Studies teacher and the other by her Math teacher.

Maryvale is a Green School, so we kindly ask that you send the Common Referral forms directly to your daughter's teachers via the Maryvale Admissions Parent Portal after the application has been submitted. Log in to your account here.

Middle School Applicants

Download the Request for Transcript form and provide it to your current school after the close of the first grading period. 6. Register for the ISEE

Students applying for Middle School (grades 6, 7 or 8) are required to take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). Maryvale will host the ISEE testing on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019. Registration is done online. Specific instructions regarding registration, testing dates and sites can be found here.

St. Julie Billiart Program Applicants

Are you unsure if the St. Julie Billiart Program is applicable for your daughter's educational journey? Learn more about the program.

4. Submit a full educational evaluation, which must have been completed within the past three years.

The following must be included in the evaluation.

      • Educational Test Data: Individually administered tests of achievement
      • Psychological Test Data: Individually administered tests of ability (i.e. WISC)
      • Diagnosis of a Disability using DSM V Classification

5. Complete the appropriate standardized testing.

Middle School Applicants

8. Confirm the need of an interview.

After the Maryvale Admissions Committee reviews the above information, an interview may be required. If needed, Maryvale will contact the applicant's family to schedule an interview time.
