Health and Wellness

The mission of Health Services at Maryvale Preparatory School is to promote the good health and overall wellbeing of all students in order to strengthen and support academic performance. First aid treatment, dispensing of medication authorized by the parent/guardian and physician, and attention to the special needs of our students is handled daily by our registered nurses.

The Maryvale Preparatory School AED Program is currently approved for on-site Automated External Defibrillator use by the State of Maryland. There are five AEDs in place on campus and the majority of faculty, staff and coaches are certified to provide CPR and are trained in the use of the AED.

Additionally, a certified athletic trainer (ATC) is on campus each afternoon to assist our student-athletes. Her duties include preventing, recognizing, managing and rehabilitating injuries that result from physical activity.

Health Forms

The following documents must be completed and uploaded to Magnus Health Record by August 1, 2022 and are required for all students annually.

NO student may attend classes, tryouts, rehearsals or practices until the forms have been uploaded to Magnus and reviewed by Maryvale's nurses. Forms will only be processed if they are completed in their entirety. If the forms are incomplete, the student will be notified, and the student will remain ineligible until they are re-submitted to Magnus.

2022-2023 COVID-19 Policies

These policies are in effect as of August 25, 2022.

Mask Optional Policy

Students, based on parental choice, will retain the option of wearing a mask or not. Staff and visitors will also have the option to wear a mask or not. This applies to all individuals regardless of vaccination status.

Anyone who chooses to wear a mask may continue to do so, and will be fully supported in their decision and will be treated with respect. Enforcement of this choice is between the parent and the child, not the school administration, faculty, or staff.

Isolation & Quarantine Guidelines

Maryvale will adhere to CDC guidance relative to individuals who test positive for COVID-19 or who has been identified as a close contact outside of the school by a health official.
