Four members of the Class of 2019 presented their Leadership Capstone Project before administrators, faculty, students and guests on May 7 as the final component of the Leadership Certificate Program. Inaugurated in the 2018-19 school year, the Leadership Institute’s Leadership Certificate Program provides students with customized, in-depth leadership training and experiences that will further distinguish them throughout their educational, professional and personal endeavors. In addition to receiving a commemorative certificate of achievement, these four students, and future Leadership scholars, will graduate from Maryvale having completed a specific course track, at least 30 leadership service hours, a capstone independent study, a leadership portfolio and a comprehensive panel interview. The 2018-19 Leadership Scholars studied and presented on the following topics:
- Catherine Chmiel '19—Leadership and Women in the Federal Bureau of Investigation
- Samantha Dore '19—Pay Equity for Women: Achieving Change through Law and Leadership
- Grace Morgan '19—Why Dyslexic Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders Have A Competitive Edge
- Caitlyn Weinstein '19—Shared Leadership in Nonprofits: A Governance Model That Propels Success
