Maryvale Performing Arts students hone skills at MD Thespian Festival

Maryvale Performing Arts Students @ MD Thespian Festival

Twelve Maryvale Performing Arts students and members of the International Thespian Society ventured to Towson University for the annual Maryland State Thespian Festival. The girls spent two days participating in invitational workshops and extended learning programs with juniors and seniors from across the state. While attending the festival, the girls also participated in professionally led sessions focused on a variety of areas including acting techniques, costume design and theater technology, just to name a few. Under the guidance of Maryvale Theater Director Ellen Manuel-Smith and Assistant Theater Director Marissa Malloy, the 12 Performing Arts students who experienced this incredible festival learned valuable skills that will directly benefit Maryvale’s future theatrical productions. The seniors had the opportunity to audition before college representatives for the chance to earn scholarships and awards in the areas of Acting, Musical Theater, Technical Theater and Theater Service.
