Chronicles of Mrs. Cory: Learning about Kenyan culture

Our students are now learning about the Kenyan culture while serving and learning about the importance of empowering women in a community. We have spent time with a group of Maasai women, an ethnic group within Kenya, who have championed women’s rights. We have seen the importance of women’s education by spending time at Daraja, an all girls high school where we spent the second week of our trip.

In addition to being immersed in the culture, we saw and fed giraffes in Nairobi, milked camels and participated in a Sunday worship service with the Daraja girls.

We will returned to the United States in a few days, on June 22!

Best,

Mrs. Cory
