From the Head of School
Recently, Sister Edithann C. Kane, a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur and a former trustee at Maryvale, sent me the following quote. It felt like a gift; poignant words to reflect upon the world’s current situation.
“The heavens don’t always protect us. They choose, on occasion, to throw down challenges instead of simply showering more blessings on our heads. Not every tempest passes in an instant. Not every deluge can be brushed off. We can cower. We can wait for the blue skies to be restored. Or we can take the plunge, defy the elements, and we can seize the day."
Sister Edithann C. Kane, SNDeN
At Maryvale – for more than 75 years – we seize each day. Since the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur opened and operated Maryvale beginning on September 9, 1945 with 12 boarders and eight-day students, we have remained a leader in preparing girls for the future through our commitment to faith-based, individualized support and instruction. Maryvale continues its mission of preparing confident young women for life.
Regardless of what is happening in the world, Maryvale continues its mission of preparing confident young women for life. We have strong momentum propelling our academic excellence and communal traditions entering the 2022-2023 school year. I am overjoyed to welcome our entire community back on campus, in person!
We are unwavering in our commitment to motivate and celebrate each student’s individual talents, all in a collegial atmosphere of inclusivity, support, and respect. We remain steadfast in our goal to prepare girls to be the next generation of leaders for a new world. Our resources, commitment to innovation and highly personalized partnership with each girl and parent in the Maryvale community allows us to continue to deliver on this mission now and in the future.
It has been my great honor and pleasure to carry on this inspired mission as President of Maryvale for the last ten years. I look forward to making this eleventh year the best year yet as I prepare to graduate with the Class of 2023.
Throughout our history, Maryvale evolved to meet the demands of an ever-changing world. We will continue to rise to meet the challenges of today’s world as we endeavor to provide an exceptional education that responds to change and prepares young women for life!
Sincerely,
Tracey H. Ford
President
