Chorus

The Maryvale Chorus

The Maryvale Singers

A treble chorus of 30 members performing classics, chamber music, madrigals, contemporary ballads, show tunes and jazz.  All arrangements are for three-part women’s chorus. Most show tunes or contemporary numbers are choreographed.  This group is open to Maryvale students in grades 9-12 who are concurrently members of the Maryvale Chorus.  Annual auditions are required.

The Trinities

A select treble chorus of between 12 and 18 members.  Singers in this group require musical independence and dance skills.  Students often perform in trio groups and choreography for their selections is intricate.  The Trinities are the premiere Maryvale choral group. The choruses perform at the fall, winter and spring annual concerts. Additionally, they serve as the music ministry for all school liturgies. Participants also perform concerts outside of Maryvale. Members of each group earn participation points toward their letter in chorus, which the students wear proudly on their school blazers.

Annual Chorus Trip

The annual chorus trip is an exciting part of choral life at Maryvale. In alternating years, the choruses travel to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida to participate in Magic Music Days and New York City to participate in Broadway Teachers’ Workshops. The New York trip offers tours backstage at various theatre venues and two Broadway shows.  Students can participate in two fundraising campaigns to help defray the cost of these trips.
