EBSCOhost Databases
Advanced Placement Source
This database is designed to meet the extensive needs of high school students enrolled in various AP courses. It includes more than 6,100 full text journals and over 200,000 photos, maps and flags.
Book Collection: Nonfiction
This is a cross curricular database that provides content representing a wide spectrum of works. The database includes searchable full text for more than 3,800 nonfiction books.
Columbia Granger’s Poetry
This database contains works of poetry found in anthologies, volumes of collected works, and selected works for individual poets. Users can easily jump from poems to relevant commentary or author biographies.
ERIC
Educational Resource Information Center provides access to education literature and resources.
Health Source
Provides access to more than 130 full text consumer health magazines, as well as health reference books and pamphlets.
History Reference Center
Features full text for more than 2,000 reference books, 130 history periodicals, as well as historical documents, photos, maps and historical video.
MAS Ultra
This comprehensive database, designed specifically for high school libraries, contains full text for magazines, biographies, primary source documents, reference books and includes an extensive image collection.
Newspaper Source
Provides cover-to-cover full text for 28 national and international newspapers, and full text television and radio news transcripts.
Religion and Philosophy Collection
Provides extensive coverage of such topics as world religions, biblical studies, and religion history through more than 300 full text journals.
Science Reference Center
Contains full text for hundreds of science encyclopedias, reference books, periodicals and other sources.
TOPICsearch
This current events database allows researchers to explore social, political and economic issues, scientific discoveries and other popular topics discussed in the classroom.
Encyclopedia Britannica Online
The subscription version has available links to over 133,000 approved Internet sites and is updated regularly. It includes all of the articles that appear in the print version plus 3,000 others, along with other reference tools. Users may utilize natural-language searching as well as more advanced search techniques.
Galenet Student Resource Center Bronze
A fully integrated, cross-curricular database that incorporates overview essays, critical analyses, biographies, and timelines. It covers over 1,800 authors, has almost 12,000 biographies, 24,000 essays, and more than 3,000 plot summaries. Research in this database is appropriately targeted to history, science, social studies, and literature and is best utilized by those in the upper grades.
Grolier Online
Includes Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia (GME), Encyclopedia Americana Online (EAO) and Lands and Peoples. The encyclopedias are appropriate for both middle and upper school and are extremely user-friendly.

Grove Art
Provides access to the full text of Dictionary of Art and the Oxford Companion to Western Art, as well as 3,000 thumbnail drawings and extensive image links. The most comprehensive online database for the visual arts from prehistory to the present.
Grove Music
Provides access to the full text of Grove’s Dictionary of Music and Musicians, The New Dictionary of Opera, and The New Dictionary of Jazz. Additionally, over 500 of Grove’s musical examples are available in sound.
Literary Reference Center
Contains full text for plot summaries, synopses, biographies and author interviews, literary criticism, book reviews, short stories and poems.
NoveList
An extensive database of fiction titles and summaries, book lists and bibliographies.
Oxford African American Studies
Voted “Best Reference” by Library Journal in 2006. This database includes reference works and articles by top scholars in the field, and focuses on the lives and events that shaped African American history and culture.
Points of View Reference Center
A full text database that provides students with a series of essays that present multiple sides of a current issue, debate guides, as well as the Video Encyclopedia of the 20th Century.
Student Research Center
Provides students with helpful research tools and allows users to determine which content sources (magazines, newspapers, biographies, country reports, film & video) will be included with their search.
