Alumna of the Year 2016
Alumna of the Year, Abigail Adams Brigstocke '86, smiles for the camera with her friends in the Great Hall of the Castle.
Abigail Adams Brigstocke '86 came to Maryvale in seventh grade. Her artistic talent blossomed as a student where she was engaged with The Grey Towers, the school newspaper, and provided the artwork for the yearbook. Abigail was presented with the Art Award at Commencement.
After graduating from Maryvale in 1986, Abigail studied environmental design at Texas A&M University, College of Architecture. She returned to Baltimore and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Maryland Institute of Art (MICA). Abigail’s career began as an interior designer at RTKL Associates in Washington, DC. In 2003, she established her own interior architecture enterprise, Abigail Adams Design. Abigail is now the current owner of Artios Retail, a property management company overseeing 30,000 square feet of retail real estate and a luxury apartment building. She also works part time as an interior designer at the Clearing House Ltd in Timonium, Md.
Through the years, Abigail stayed involved at Maryvale by organizing reunions and gathering her classmates for various alumnae events. For the past six years as the proud mother of Olivia Brigstocke '17, Abigail has become a welcome fixture at Maryvale. She incorporates her flair for event planning and organization, skills that were developing when she co-chaired a number of school dances with her own classmates in the 80s, on the Mothers’ Club Leadership team.
We are proud of this special graduate, her career path and volunteer activities, but today our honoree is celebrated for the many contributions she has made to the Maryvale community. Abigail has indeed given so generously of her time, talent and treasure to our school. She is a great advocate and a wonderful friend to all of us.
