St. Julie Billiart Program

Program Overview

The St. Julie Billiart Program serves bright, college-bound students with a diagnosed language-based learning difference. Through the St. Julie Billiart program, girls receive 2:1 instruction with an experienced learning specialist, who supports the girls through Maryvale’s rigorous college preparatory program using proven instructional methods. Each staff member personally configures a Student Learning Plan for each girl to ensure that her educational needs are met and supported, thus allowing her to successfully navigate Maryvale’s college preparatory curriculum. Within the St. Julie Billiart Program, students also will gain a deeper understanding of their learning differences while recognizing their strengths and advocating for their individual needs.

In addition to working directly with participating students and their families, the St. Julie Billiart Program also serves as a resource for all Maryvale families who may have questions concerning learning issues while working closely with our school and college counselors.

Who benefits from the St. Julie Billiart Program?

A St. Julie Billiart student is, first and foremost, a motivated Maryvale student. Through the St. Julie Billiart Program, girls are given the tools needed to achieve their greatest level of success at Maryvale. Students in the St. Julie Billiart Program are represented in all levels of academics at Maryvale, including College Preparatory, Accelerated, Honors and Advanced Placement courses. All St. Julie Billiart students complete the same course of study as every other Maryvale student.

Testimonials

“We are so happy that we chose Maryvale for Middle School for our daughter. We love the St. Julie Billiart Program, the wonderful and caring teachers and staff, and the incredible friends that she has made! During these formative years, we've seen our daughter grow into a better student and a more confident, happy young lady. This truly is a special place and her experiences here are both shaping her life and creating memories for a lifetime!” - Jen Ronald, parent of Lauren '21

The St. Julie Billiart program is a helpful program for students with learning differences because it gives us the extra time and support that we need for the way we learn. The St. Julie teachers help with time management, and also provide special teaching techniques for things that we might have difficulty with in our regular classes. SJB is my favorite class of the day. I love my teacher, and I know that I can always count on her to help me!” - Lauren '21

“I love the St. Julie Billiart Program. I always feel so welcome, and I never have to feel stressed on tests because I know that there is someone who is always there who can help and talk it out with me. I love every single one of the teachers there! They are so helpful and fun to be with. I can talk to them about things other than school. They also help me balance my schoolwork so well. Another amazing thing about this program is that it's fun. Going to this class every day is my highlight of the day!” - Skylar '23
