How to Apply: St. Julie Billiart Program

The St. Julie Billiart Program serves bright, college-bound students with a diagnosed language-based learning difference. Through the St. Julie Billiart program, girls receive 2:1 instruction with an experienced learning specialist, who supports the girls through Maryvale’s rigorous college preparatory program using proven instructional methods.

Online Application - DUE: Friday, Dec. 9

Complete the online application and submit the accompanying $50 application fee by Friday, Dec. 9, 2016

Please note: if the applicant is the daughter or grandaughter of a Maryvale alumna or the sister of a current/former Maryvale student, please contact the Admissions Office for an application waiver code.

Submit an Educational Evaluation

Submit a full educational evaluation, completed within the last three years. The following must be included in the evaluation:

  • Educational test data: Individually administered tests of achievement
  • Psychological test data: Individually administered tests of ability (i.e. WISC)
  • Diagnosis of a disability using DSM V classification

Standardized Testing

Middle School Applicants

Students applying for Middle School (grades 6, 7 or 8) are required to take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). Maryvale will host the ISEE testing on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017. Specific instructions regarding registration, testing dates and sites can be found here.

Upper School Applicants:
Take the High School Placement Test (HSPT). The HSPT will be offered on Dec. 3 and Dec. 10. Maryvale will administer the test on Dec. 10. Applicants should arrive between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m.; testing begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at noon. Register here.  

Transcript

If you are a freshmen applicant attending a Catholic School:

As part of the HSPT registration process, your school will receive notification to send your transcripts and recommendations to Maryvale. No additional steps are needed.

All other applicants: 

Download the Request for Transcript form and provide it to your current school after the close of the first grading period. This form gives the school your permission to send records from the past three years (grades; report cards; teacher comments; and any/all standardized test scores) to Maryvale.

Referral Forms

If you are a freshmen applicant attending a Catholic School: 

As part of the HSPT registration process, your school will receive notification to send your transcripts and referrals to Maryvale. No additional steps are needed.

All other applicants: 

Download two copies of the Common Referral Form. This form should be completed by your daughter’s current teachers after the close of the first grading period. One should be completed by her English/Language Arts/Social Studies teacher, the other by her Math teacher. Completed forms should be mailed from the school directly to Maryvale’s Admissions Office.

Alternatively, you may send the Common Referral Form directly to you daughter's teachers via the Maryvale Admissions Portal. Login in to your account here

Interview

After the admissions commitee reviews the above information, an interview may be required. If needed, Maryvale will contact the applicant's family to schedule an interview time.
